Statement of Problem: |

The purpose of this investigation is to determine whether it is better to heat water at a high, low or medium power. In addition, we hope to discover the optimal power at which we achieve the highest efficiency. |

Hypothesis: |
|
We believe that a medium setting will yield the greatest efficiency in heating the water. We will strive to find the setting that yields the best efficiency. Efficiency is defined as output/input, with input defined as amps*volts and output as the slope of the best fit line of a graph of heat (J) as the y-axis and time (s) as the x-axis. |
